For sale is the Swaddling Songs cult album by the equally folk rock band, Mellow Candle. This is the very first pressing released on Deram, as confirmed by the stamped matrix (see photos).

What makes this copy particularly special is that this is Clodaghs (the bands singers) personal copy, which was signed and personalized to me. However, Im in my early 30s and I need to prioritize a home deposit over a beautiful piece of plastic; as painful as it is, as there is only one copy of this in existence and I will never see it again. If your first name is Daniel / Dan, you are also in luck with the personalization of it!

Record condition, the second important section! I gave this a nice clean when I first got it, and it looked and sounded fantastic. I might be biased in saying this was my ultimate upgrade copy, seeing as, you know, its Clodaghs personal copy and it was personalized to me.

Pretty hard to compete with that... But the record in itself was worth the cost, and I would never have needed a better upgrade copy.

Very Good (VG) to Very Good Plus (VG+). Side A looks VG+, only some minor hairlines. Side B has two light marks, one is pictured (in either song 1 or 2 in Side B) and the other one is an approx 3-4 cm line (in either the second to last, or last song). Neither affects play significantly, some random moments of light crackle, nothing which stared out at me when playing it through my Technics turnable and KEF speakers. Aside from those light marks, it has a beautiful gloss to it elsewhere, the labels looks nice, and no warping and of course, it will be send to you with both the original plan label inner sleeve and a high quality MOFI inner sleeve.

Like mentioned above, I think overall this is an amazing sounding record. It sounds much better than you might expect given those hairline marks. Where there is crackle in 3 or 4 song parts, the record plays between VG and VG+. 80% of the time (and in the best songs I might add), it plays VG+ and even EX. Absolutely no warping, no skips, no loud as hell popping/clicking which ruins your experience, and no repeats. The cover has some scratches and scuffs (please see the photos), the inside gatefold has signs of ageing, but beyond this, no splits, writing etc, except for obviously the signature by. It will be packaged with incredible care and sent to you ASAP.

Please see my perfect feedback in case you need more reassurance. I will also include all the mailing correspondence (as pictured) I had with Clodagh, as (what those artsy collectors call) provenance material. However, Clodaghs address / contact details (and mine) will be redacted for our privacy! This is a hard record to give up, but I can guarantee that the next owner will be one happy individual! I will always have the CD to enjoy my favourite folk/prog album, entitled Swaddling Songs by Mellow Candle!
