Signed in blue ink directly across Marley's iconic portrait, this is one of the most personal and extensive Marley inscriptions we have ever encountered. This is an original 1978 Island Records Golddisc pressing (ILPS 9517), complete with the original vinyl record.

The back cover features the full lyrics to all ten tracks, production credits, and the album's distinctive botanical artwork. Both the Side A and Side B labels are in excellent condition showing the classic Island Records palm tree logo. Bob Marley autographed items are among the rarest and most coveted in all of music memorabilia.

Marley died on May 11, 1981, at the age of just 36, and was not known to be a prolific signer. Authenticated Marley signatures are exceptionally scarce, and an inscription this personal and detailed - addressing the recipient, adding "Rasta Girl" and "Jah" - makes this piece truly singular.

And was in fact largely drawn from the same recording sessions at Harry J Studios in Kingston, Jamaica, in early 1977. Channeled Marley's political fire and spiritual urgency. Turned toward love, peace, and sensuality - offering a warmer, more intimate portrait of the artist. The album produced two of Marley's most beloved and enduring singles: "Is This Love, " a joyous, instantly recognizable anthem that remains one of reggae's most celebrated love songs, and "Satisfy My Soul, " a smooth, soulful groove that showcased Marley's range as a vocalist and songwriter.

Other standout tracks include "Easy Skanking, " the lush "Sun Is Shining, " and the reflective Time Will Tell. " The album was produced by Bob Marley & The Wailers, with the core band featuring Aston "Family Man" Barrett on bass, Carlton Barrett on drums and percussion, Tyrone Downie on keyboards, and Julian "Junior Marvin and Al Anderson on guitar. 4 on the UK Albums Chart and was a commercial success internationally.

Its title track refers to a Jamaican term for marijuana, and the album embraced the spiritual and meditative dimensions of Rastafari culture. Though some critics at the time viewed it as less politically charged than. Has been widely reappraised over the decades as one of Marley's finest and most cohesive works. A deluxe 40th anniversary reissue was released in 2018.

Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley, OM (February 6, 1945 - May 11, 1981) was a Jamaican singer, songwriter, musician, and guitarist who became the global ambassador for reggae music and one of the most influential cultural figures of the 20th century. Born in Nine Mile, Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, Marley began his career in 1963 with The Wailers, alongside Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer, and over the next two decades transformed reggae from a regional Jamaican sound into a worldwide movement. His music fused the spiritual consciousness of Rastafari with universal themes of love, resistance, redemption, and unity. Established him as the most commercially successful reggae artist in history. Songs like "No Woman, No Cry, " "Redemption Song, " "One Love, " "Three Little Birds, " and "Is This Love" are part of the global musical vocabulary.

Marley was diagnosed with melanoma in 1977, which eventually metastasized. He died in Miami on May 11, 1981, at the age of 36, and was given a state funeral in Jamaica. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 and received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. His autograph is one of the most valuable and scarce signatures in all of music memorabilia.
