DENNIS WILSON BEACH BOYS Signed Autographed PACIFIC OCEAN BLUE 1977 Vinyl Record

  

This is a fantastic Beach Boys collectible, a copy of Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue, a great and hard to find album to begin with, but this one is nicely and boldly inscribed and signed by Dennis! Vinyl has been played and loved and while not mint is still a VG- with surface scuffs and marks, but nonetheless plays nicely.

Original printed inner sleeve has some foxing, very light creasing and a few light marks. Outer gatefold sleeve has some edge marks and very light edge staining on lower right front bottom side (see pics), rubbing and wear to spine, but is still overall solid and nice. According to the matrix/runout (1s pal-34354-1a lrs-jp+sm a7) this looks like a variant Santa Maria press from 1977. This original 1977 album is uncommon enough as it is, but you never come across signed copies!

Pacific Ocean Blue did not initially sell a lot of copies, and the original tour was scrapped, and. Dennis sadly passed away just a handful of tumultuous years after this record was made. But over time this record has become a cult classic for its depth and feeling and style, and constantly appears on countless "best of" lists.

It was out of print for decades and its reissue in 2008 was hailed as reissue of the year. I received this album directly from the recipient that Dennis signed it to back when this record came out. I wasn't present when she met Dennis and he signed this record, but I know her, she was a lifelong music fan who worked in the industry and even hosted bands at her home, and this signed album comes with a record store COA stating that it is believed to be authentic and genuine. Uter sleeve sent in archival poly bag, record in separate archival rice-paper sleeve, safely and securely boxed in a record box, package insured.
